Olivia de Guzman
Olivia de Guzman (she/her) is a first-generation Filipina American actor from Dallas, Texas. Since 2004, she’s performed on stages in Dallas-Ft. Worth and New York, and on tour through the US and Canada. She’s also an accomplished musician and has been recognized by the DFW Critics Theatre Forum for musical composition as well as for acting. Rounding out her career as an artist, she is a voice and acting teacher and a former arts entrepreneur. Olivia chose to pursue an MFA after years in the field in order to reexamine her place in the arts today. Much has changed since she came up in the theatre: access, diversity, actor training, technology, and the paradigm of whose stories audiences want to see. Olivia is excited to be part of this shifting industry and to bring to it years of experience plus fresh MFA training. Recently, Olivia was invited to join the Brierley Resident Acting Company at Dallas Theater Center.
